The Canadian rapper Tory Lanez is keeping his momentum going to end the year by working on his new mixtape ‘Chixtape 5′. Lanez recently previewed one of his new tracks off the mixtape that samples T-Pain’s hit song ‘Sprung’, and has earned a pretty sweet co-sign from T-Pain.
Lanez released the preview via a video on his Instagram page last night (December 7th) after he and T-Pain linked up in a Miami studio. The studio they worked at? Oh yeah, it also happened to be the same studio T-Pain recorded his debut album at, Rappa Ternt Sanga, and it was on the anniversary of T-Pain’s release of said album.
As Tory is letting the camera roll before he shows T-Pain the new joint he says, “This is the first time that he’s ever hearing this. I just had to make sure this was televised,” hinting that Tory thinks he just created a new hit.
T-Pain’s reaction may be a good indicator that Lanez is on to something big here.
“Hard body! Oh my God, somebody get CSI: Miami on the phone. There’s a body in the street!”, T-Pain yelled after hearing a snippet of the song.
Lanez is finally back in the spotlight, and he’s not going to let it leave him again. With the success of his October album, Love Me Now, he’s staying busy with a Latin release under the name El Agua and is reportedly working on some joint projects with Meek Mill and Chris Brown. Can’t wait to see what you do next Tory!
